Meet Principal Laura Davila

I've always wanted to be an educator so this is just a dream come true for me my name is Laura Davila and I'm the proud principal of Ladera Elementary School good morning Ladera Elementary it is time for our morning announcements as a principal I take the responsibility of making sure that everyone knows that leera is the school to be so I think that the leader has a lot to do with it and that's just what we're always looking for is to grow the community and the culture and in return it's going to be um the best learning environment for our kids I think that there's so many attributes of a leader but being a great leader would be someone who can communicate being able to let parents and families and students know just everything that's going on here at the school being passionate being someone who's going to look to um the future and see um where we're going to lead the school and our students and just being an advocate for our students and what our students need the most I think those are all great qualities and I'm excited just to be able to um fulfill those or look forward to doing those things here my favorite thing about my job is walking the hallways and being with my students I think whenever I see students I just see how lucky we are to be in the position we're in to be able to shape them and to help be able to educate them and um not just in the classroom but in everything that they do so that's the that's the best part is just walking the hallways being in the classroom seeing the kids getting the high fives um getting the pictures from them and just um them seeing me visible and present and just wanting to be where the kids are that's what what I want to do
