Ladera and Luckey Ranch Elementary to serve as polling sites on Election Day

Ladera and Luckey Ranch Elementary Parents, Staff and Community,

We want to inform you that your campus will serve as a designated polling location on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

We understand that having members of the public on campus during the instructional day may raise questions or concerns, and we want to assure you that the safety and security of our students and staff remain our highest priority.

Under Texas Election Code ยง43.031, public school districts are required to make their facilities available for use as polling locations when requested by election officials. While this is a responsibility we must fulfill under state law, we recognize the importance of maintaining a safe and secure learning environment.

With that in mind, Medina Valley ISD has worked proactively to develop a comprehensive safety plan for Election Day. Additional precautions will include:

  • Increased MVISD & local law enforcement presence throughout the day.

  • Additional signage to clearly direct voters to the designated polling area and ensure they remain separated from instructional areas.

  • Designated voting area with separate entry and exit to maintain separation between voters and students.

  • Additional district administrators on site to assist with monitoring and oversight throughout the school day.

Election Day Reminders for Families and Voters

To help ensure a safe and smooth Election Day, we ask everyone visiting campus to follow these guidelines:

  • Use designated parking area: Voters should park only in the area designated for election-related parking and avoid blocking student drop-off and pick-up areas.

  • Follow posted signage: Signs will direct voters to the designated polling entrance and parking area.

  • Remain in designated voting area: Voters should use only the designated polling entrances and areas of the campus.

  • Use caution in school zones: Please remain alert for students, buses, and increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic, particularly during arrival and dismissal times.

  • Allow extra time: Families may experience additional traffic near campus throughout the day. We encourage everyone to plan accordingly.

Our goal is to minimize disruptions to instruction while ensuring that students and staff can continue their school day in a safe and secure environment.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we fulfill our responsibilities under state law while keeping student safety at the forefront of everything we do.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our campuses!
